Issouri Senator Josh Hawley lost a book deal. Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has lost fans. And now, as a potential merger of two major US publishers rocks the industry, Amazon is removing content it deems objectionable from the world's largest bookselling platform.
In this turbulent landscape, can conservative authors still speak freely and sell books?
Yes, say the editors, but perhaps they need to change the way they do business in a culture newly aware of the power of "excluding" people with unpopular opinions.
